1st Year Anniversary
My blog is a year old, where has the time gone!! Life has taught me many things over the past year, encouraging me to grown as a wife, mother, friend, artist, and blogger. Developing a relevant blog with my unique interpretation is my number one goal. Whats the point of writing a blog if you don’t have anything to express, share, teach or possibly enlighten others with.
My blog will continue to be about my family, friends and artwork. l'll demonstrate varies calligraphic techniques as well. Next month I will have my first GIVEAWAY, so keep checking my blog for more information. Here are some highlights of the last year.

Bloom Where You Are Planted
This past weeks class project with Jenny Doh / Cynthia Shaffer was to make an apron using the phrase: “Bloom Where You Are Planted.” I have made a variety of aprons in the past, however this projected required me to free motion stitch the words on to the fabric.
Despite the fact that I already had the fabric I needed, I still ended up at Joann's, looking for inspiration and burlap. While shopping it became more obvious that with each smile, conversation, laughter that transpired a feeling of happiness was blooming in the air.
This is when I came to this conclusion that when you bloom where you are planted happiness is sure to follow.

Wonderful Birthday
I just celebrated my 50th birthday party, OMG, did I really just write that number down. I am ready to let go of my expectations of what life should or would be and embrace this life with all it's glory.
My artistic journey is a series of successes and failures. Disillusionment and disappointment has thrown me into turmoil for several months at a time. I questioned everything regarding my creative life, while being completely unaware that I was making a difference in the lives of others. This struggle opened the door for some very special people in my life to come forward with priceless encouragement .
With this birthday I gave myself the gift of art without expectations, premission for imperfection, art without obligation, art without a destination. To be an artist not seeking approval or acceptance.
I still aspire to sell my artwork, teach classes and maybe even someday write a book. However, the joy of just creating and giving gifts to my friends and family is priceless. With that said, here is a picture of a beautiful, amazing doll that I received from my sister. This priceless birthday gift will be a constant reminder of my artist journey.
